With my hair type, am I gonna have to do alot of maintaining when I get up in the morning, like am I gonna have to use alot of product? I know I have to thin out my hair because I have alot of it, and I have to straighten my bangs and the tips, which is easy, but as for the little pieces of wavy hair on the top, am I gonna wake up and it'll be that way, or will I have to work on it? Like I'm wondering if it'll be the kind of thing where if I'm lazy in the morning, I can just leave it natural and it'll look good... Thank you :)

You will have to straigten it every morning, and style it to get those looks your going for! a lot of work I must say... have you ever considerd getting your hair permatley starigtend. Theres not many ways to style curly hair, if you want it staright, do it permatley, it will keep it in a lot better shape then having to di it everyday....

if you are not going to wash it every day then straightening it on top should last just fine and all you should have to do is maybe scrunch the ends in the morning. very little maintenance and if it looks bad you can always put it up that day. hope this helps

It might work if you are willing to blow dry and straighten your hair daily. You risk heat damage and if your hair is stubborn the style might not make it through the day.

Getting long layers so your hair doesn't poof out into a pyramid/triangle is a good idea. Talk to the stylist to find a length that works. If the layers are too short your hair might spring up into curls. Let gravity help you.

If you keep your length you can put your hair up, wear a ponytail, let it dry naturally for a curly look or straighten it for different look.

If you have cowlicks or a high hairline, side swept bangs may not be a good idea.

I have no idea what point cutting is. Don't do it unless they show you several pictures and it's something that you'd think you'd like.

I got sick of my hair, and so I permed it. I used the biggest rollers the salon had, and the result was great ringlet curls (not frizzy 90's perm, really pretty). In the morning I spray in scrunch spray, scrunch it up some, then blow it dry with a diffuser or let it air dry. It is the easiest style I have ever had. Plus, everyone is straightening their hair, so I think curly hair looks more unique.

Like I said, don't try anything without some pictures. That's how I decided to do my perm was because my stylist took out a magazine and showed me what it would look like.

Try maybe some angled cuts. And if you do a side-sweep bang your forehead wont look that small. Thin it out and get layers around your face [ask them for a face frame] and they'll know what to do. It'll look awesome i promise =]

I think u should maybe cut it a little short but not too short. Maybe you should cut it to shoulder length and curl it in word at the bottom. I think that would look cute. Or keep it the way it is and pin it up and have some pieces hanging down.

I think it would work, but it might be a bit short because it takes alot of volume to do that hair, so if it's cut at your shoulders, it might be lifted above your shoulders when you tease it. But yeah, it should work.

I'd cut it short over a period of time. If you chop it off all at once I'm worried it'll be a shock/you may not even like it. Just my opinion.

Very cool style! I wish my hair was semi-straight to do that. Lucky! I'm not a stylist or anything but it looks like there shouldn't be any problem with you getting that look. Only thing I do recommend is going to a professional to get it done, of course. Don't be afraid to ask them questions before and be sure to tell them if there is something you don't like about the end result. They should be concerned about how happy you are with the cut before you walk out the door. That way they won't charge you for any extra fixin's to finish the job right.

aww, that sounds cute!

one thing that might look good is if you curl it with a curling iron, spritz some hairspray (very little) in your hair, then brush it out. this will create volume and body, also giving it a very sexy curvy shape. afterwards, just finger style and you will look great!

Some emo haircuts aren't that great..Be careful..You could go for choppy layers that start out above your ear and leave a thin layer of hair that ends at your shoulders. I'm not sure if that's what you're really going for, but just thought I'd suggest it.

go to the hair dye section of any grocery store and get sum semi permanent hair dye of any color .. u could just get black if u want , but dont get the color pulse stuff from loreal , i duno it dint make my hair that soft , but any others work pretty good , because semi permanent dye works like a conditioner , just like a million times more amazing , there is no amonia in it so it isnt bad for ur hair .. i reccomend natural instinct semi i think it has sum info about how its really good for ur hair on the side or sumthin ... but trust me my hair has never been softer or shinier than after i used that stuff .. i kno maybe this sounds wierd since u dont want to change colors , but it really realy works trust me.. it takes away frizz and everything .. and plus changing hair colours is just so much fun .. maybe u could just make it blacker or usmthin if u have emo hair ... well good luck

it looks like a simple style, after you take away the curls at the tips %26amp; her gorgeous teases tresses. ask for a layered cut around your shoulders [any length would do, really.]

%26amp; for color, take your natural color %26amp; streak it with the colors that aren't already in your hair. like if your a redhead, streak it with dark brown, auburn, and blonde. [not in the same sitting, however, as this could cause color-bleeding and accidental mixing....not very pretty...]

when you get your cut, take the shortest layers, pull them to the front, [after a shower, when your hair can be blow-dried in any form] and just blow dry them to the side. i use bedhead hairspray but you can use any spray you like, and with a comb, just tease the top layer around your scalp...

%26amp; when all else fails, print %26amp; take that picture to your stylist [or email it to her] %26amp; let her do the rest. %26amp; if she can't or isn't sure about it...it's probably time to find a new stylist.

I agree with Morgan, definitely take the picture in when you get it cut. Sometimes describing the haircut to the stylist gives that person a different mental image than what you're actually asking for.

Be sure to tell him/her what it is that you especially like about the cut -- the length, the side-swept bang, etc.

I think I'd ask them while I'm there for suggestions on a new hair color. I like the red in the picture, but maybe you'd look even better with blonde highlights or going a dramatic dark brown.

I don't know what you look like but, it looks like this style would be nice with a medium brown and chuncked in blonde..(very light blonde...) Chuncked...Not streaked...I just had mine streaked and didn't care for it as much...Of course, after it was done I saw some girl with the same coloring and style, but, her's was chuncked.....Loved it!! I reccomend finding a a groomer that has a private shop. A home envirnment. It will take a few times or more maybe...but you must be consistant. ASk questions of your groomer....HAVE you been to school for grooming...and not a petco or petsmart school. An actual accredited grooming school. That type of groomer is educated to handle your type of problem. I have been grooming for over 28 years and have yet to meet ANY dog of ANY size/shape/personality that I could not groom...oh yes...I did go to an accredited school. Be consistent. Find a groomer that shows kindness. Also dont trust a groomer that doesnt own a dog himself/herself.

Oh, fun!! Do #1, dramatic haircuts are SO much fun! You'd really look cute with either one, but I say go for the shorter, more dramatic cut. Especially if you've never had hair that short before--it's a liberating feeling! Plus some women tie so much of their femininity and self-esteem up in their hair length, it's awesome to get it the length of it chopped off and realize you're still feminine and cute as hell!

I routinely grow my hair out really long, then cut it to chin length, and everytime I cut it people are shocked, and tell me how much more mature I look (I have a baby face, but I'm 24).

Remember, even if you don't love it, hair grows back!!!

my mum has curly hair in the style you described and it looks great.. she also has layers cut through underneath as well as on the top becsause she has really thick hair..

her hairdresser does this thing where she takes a chunk of hair and twirls it around her finger so that it all twists together and then takes the scissors along the egde of the twist of hair.. this looks great in curly hair.. but my hair is kinda wavy and it works for me too..

to avoid any disasters make sure you get it cut at least a week before you go back to school.. and make sure your hairdresser knows what he/she is doing.. talk through what you want with them first.. they may also have some ideas for what would look good in your hair.. perhaps ask them when you go to book the appointment.. this will give you time to think about it..

Well, it sounds like your hair's already short. Hate to break it to you, but it won't help to cut it unless you grow it out longer first. Wait till it's past your earlobes, then cut it yourself. Scene hair is supposed to be angular, choppy, spikey, puffy, and weird in general. So if it doesn't turn out exactly how you pictured, so what? It'll be non-mainstream, and that's what matters.

I have the same hair as you. Try getting long side bangs. The longer your hair is, the longer you want ur side bangs. To style, all you need is a blow dryer and a flat brush comb.

Blow dry your hair to fluff it and then then brush your hair over. It will give ur hair more volume.

If you have a rounder face, then I would go for a style with definition and angles. It's a nice contrast with the shape of the face. If you're a little daring, I love Posh Beckham's new cut. I think generally a side sweep or fall of hair in the front is flattering to round faces. I have a modified bob that angles toward my face and is about cheekbone height. My whole cut is razored, to give the layers movement and make it a little more edgy. What I would never do (as my face is on the round side, too) is a chin length cut or middle part, as this only accentuates the roundness of my face.

If you are not sure about the colour you could try going just a few shades darker and then if you like it you could get it dyed again rather than taking it too dark and finding you dont like it.

Have a look at lots and lots of styles in magazines and online. Find out what shape face you have - my face is round, so I already know that round styles like bobs and shorter hair just emphasise the roundness of my face and aren't a good look. Work out what would suit you before you get your hair cut!

A good stylist will work with your skin tone to get a colour that suits you, block colour of either brown or black might be too harsh if your hair is lighter, the stylist might add some lowlights to darken the hair, but won't overwhelm you. Your freckles probably won't affect what colour hair suits you!

Have a consultation and ask lots of questions before you commit to an appointment and if it's possible go to lots of different salons and ask to see their previous work and how much it will all cost you.

what you can do, is go into a salon. they SHOULD have magazines, and books on hair styles. Find one that you like, or you can even image search for celeb hair styles. Say you like the back of one hair style, but dont care for the front. Find a front you like, and use that front with the back you like. As far as the color goes. any normal salon with give yuo a FREE consultation with a color expert. if you have a Fantasic Sam's near you, go to them. they are the best and any sort of consultation is free, and they give the BEST advise i have ever been given when it comes to my hair.... best of luck..

for the best colour, look towards your natural hair colour. it is best to stay between 2 shades lighter or 2 shades darker than this colour. for anything too different i definately recommend foils or tips. bangs suit people with longer faces. but they are good either way for a change.

I finally broke down %26amp; had my hair layerd %26amp; cut shoulder length with bangs. I have never had bangs at least that I can remember. OMG help! They are either straight flat %26amp; stuck to my forehead or when I blow them dry they pouff out like I am stuck in the 80's. Pointers? They are just barely below my eyebrows and cut pretty much straight across.

Can anyone give this bang virgin some styling tips? Like when drying should I part it and blowdry off to the side? Should I be pulling them forward like towards my nose (which usually results in both sides point in %26amp; the middle straightdown...uggh) If I am blowing it to the side (I like the side bang look) how should I hold the brush...toward my ear, crown or nose? I have some Pomade %26amp; Hair Wax but I don't know how to use them ends up looking wet %26amp; sticky %26amp; usually standing on end.....then I am back into the 80's again. Try a velcro roller on dry hair. I have stick straight (what i call "Marcia Brady" ) hair. I keep it all straight, but need to use a roller in my bangs for a few minutes in the morning to get them to gently curl under a wee bit. Otherwise they're like a broom or look like Barbie's little sister, Skipper. lol.

So yeah, a medium size velcro roller just on the bangs, when dry, spritz with hairspray if needed. it won't give any curl per se, but just enough "turn under".

Anything with heat and bingo - 80's bangs. Even a round brush with a dryer gives too much.

FYI - my stylist suggests no more sideswept bangs. Straight across and "deep" bangs are the next thing and sideswept ones will soon look dated.

I just got bangs too! This is my tip. OK if you don't have a straightener go get one. It works trust me. Take your bangs and hold them straight up.curl them with the straightener. take a round brush and curl them like you did with the straightener. and then style them. A prenatal vitamin always helps hair grow much faster. It is also good for your skin and nails, etc. If you can stand the side effects I'd try that. Some people feel sick from taking them and others can take them with no affect. Like a prev. user said though, a good diet and water will help.

if my hair isn't it gets really straight. the weight of my hair pulls out every bit of wave i have. getting it texturized, brings waves and bounce to my hair.

I'm assuming that "joe" means you're a guy, and guys usually want the easier and cheaper route, not the time-consuming and expensive daily thing. So, if you're not against some chemical services, you could consider a mild relaxer, which will really show its benefit when the hair is shorter.

I have the same type of hair and ran into the same problem as you for years. I'd suggest investing in a straightener to help smooth at least the top layer of your hair.

I use a Revlon ceramic style straightener every day on the highest heat setting, and it works fine. For more body I only straighten the top layer, and if I want to wear it really straight I start underneath and straighten individual layers.

On high heat, it really doesn't take too long and I've been able to experiment with the shorter styles I was never able to pull off before.

If you are going to ask for the white person, do it over the phone so that you do not cause trouble. Do it discreetly. You don't want to upset the people responsible for making you hair beautiful. Artists are sensitive and they may all stick together if they work in the same shop.

Just an idea for you. We did this and it turned out really cute.

First my son went with his dad to the barbershop that his dad went to. We took the camera along and got a series of pictures of the whole event! Remember , there is only one first hair cut!

We took a picture of them walking down the sidewalk together , then one going in the door, then the two of them sitting next to each other waiting for the barber, then my son getting up into the special chair (with a booster seat!) , then several of the cutting, then the barber brushing him off. then when he handed the barber the money, and one getting handed a candy for behaving, then the two of them walking out the door with new hair cuts. This has always been a popular area of our photo albums.

since you have a round face, you shouldnt get it cut too short . . that will only make it rounder.

also get layers in your hair, and tell them to thin it out since ur hair is thick, and that should make it look thinner and give it some life ! dont get bangs, bangs look bad with thick hair.

If you have extreme pimples and or an oily face, don't get bangs. The bangs will get really greasy, really fast and cause more pimples on your forehead.

Since you have short hair, have you ever considered growing it longer? If I were you a would just get the damaged ends trimmed tomorrow and grow your hair to bra stap length.

Then you could get some nice layers and be able to do more hairstyles with your hair.

Yes bangs can cause a few more pimples but you can always hide those with your bangs. hehe. Not only that, but side bangs will help your face look not so round.

Instead of your side band, make it straight across, right below your eyes, and wear them that way. itll probly bother you though so MAKE SURE youll like them. You can also get your hair in short layers all around your face from chin down.. Also you could dye your hair black.
