What is a good hair cut for a preppy girl who has thick and course hair?

I'm in high school and still trying to find the perfect hair cut for my kind of hair! Help! Please!

I'd suggest long layers (where the hair is slightly layerd at the very bottom) and have the hairstylist use the thinning shears to achieve the look you want. Good Luck!

Ask them to LAYER your hair - then it will have a denfinate style to it, and will also be easy to maintain.

Try asking your stylist, but not a chian store like super cuts.

Layers are always nice when you have thick hair though.

my hair is the same way. you can make your hair sleek actually if you apply vo5 conditioning oil to your hair and put a flat iron to it. your hair would also look nice in long layers.

Well coming from a preppy girl.... go with a hair cut that is right below the sholders. To thin out your hair go with some layers, but DONT (whatever you do) get the choppy layers!! You have to keep up with this hairstyle though. That means getting up every morning to style it. Trust me its worth it. Even though I gave you good advice, you should always talk things over with your hair stylist!!

You need the eyes and ears of an expert hairdresser. Getting the haircut of your dreams isn't always possible because the shape of your face, eyes, and neck really need to determine the type of haircut that will fit you best. So go to a good hairdresser and see what she thinks.

definitely a short cut, chin length with some shorter layers. The kind of easy haircut that you just run your hands through and it looks perfect!

For a preppy girl? I would say go with something almost all one length with layering ONLY toward the bottom. Too much layering too high up will just make your hair go POOF. If your hair is curly, and you have a lot of frizz, try some straightening serum and a flat iron. It's a lot of work but it looks great! If your hair is straight, use products that make your hair shiny (I suggest BioSilk Silk Protein) and try to keep it long.

DO NOT GO SHORT!!!!!!!!

I too have course thick hair and it is a burden when it is short. When it grows out it will stick up every where do not go short!! It is a really bad idea if you do cut it go medium length. Sum up Sum down is what I usually do. Really easy to manage when it is long. I had a bob and let it grow out then cut it again and trust me it was a mess!!!!

a few layers for definition. A side swept Bang, and I would suggest adding a small flip at the ends. Work with the thickness.
