Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

Its something Ive heard quite a few times but not actually sure if theres much truth in it. Im growing my hair long and havent had it cut in a while. If I cut it will it grow faster?

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

NO! but it will make it feel thicker, hence that it has grown faster.....get all of that nasty dead stuff OFF! and have regular 1/4 inch trims every 8 weeks......otherwise, you'll end up having to take MORE off the longer you wait...Hair is essentially "dead" matter....and the ends of your hair are the oldest....soooooo......trim those ends off if you are going to have long hair~ every six inches of hair is approximately 1 year old hair, so if your hair is half way down your back it can be 5-7 years old....and the only way to repair those ends are "scissors". No conditioner will repair split ends....only the scissors can do that~

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

no. it just clips the dead ends off.

that makes it grow in healthier, and since you dont have any dead ends getting snagged in combs and brushes, it reduces the amount of breakage, which is something that impedes hair growth.

so it gives the illusion of making your hair grow faster when its actually growing at the normal rate.

you dont have to cut it, just trim those ends. it will help.

also make sure to eat right, drink plenty of water, take your vitamins, keep your hair clean and moisturized, and avoid excessive heat use to aid in healthy hair. good luck :)

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

Just trim the ends, and that'll make it grow faster.

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

no hair grows at the same rate regardless of being cut

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

If you just cut off the split end every once in a while, yes it actually does help your hair grow.

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

Yes by trimming the dead ends off it will make it grow faster!

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

It doesn't make it grow faster, it takes off the split ends which helps it to get longer because when there are split ends there they'll split higher and higher up the shaft until the hair is useless and just falls out. By getting a regular trim, the hairs don't split, so don't fall out.

It taked the dead ends off. so your hair stops splitting.

So yes, in a way it does make your hair grow. cuz it isnt splitting anymore.

every 4-6 weeks n ur sorted.

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

All of your hair is dead... you grow new hair from the root and not the end... so, cutting your hair does not make your hair grow faster. It just takes all the dead ends off... vitamins for women will make your hair grow faster.

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

The short answer: No.

The longer answer: Your hair is made of the same substance as your nails. Once your hair or nail leaves the "root" area (under the skin) it is dead. There is no blood-flow or any nerve endings. So, no...cutting your hair (or nails) will not make it grow faster...because you are just cutting off the dead parts. Cutting your hair is kind of like exfoliating your skin. You aren't going to make your skin "grow" any faster...just make it look nicer.

There are, however, plenty of things you can do to make your hair grow healthier...and possibly faster (though this is debatable). Start with a healthy diet. What you put into your body directly affects how you look on the outside. Basically, if you treat your body like crap you'll look like crap.

Good luck!

Trimming your hair does not make it grow faster. It does however keep it healthy so it can grow instead of breaking off. Split ends are what you are trying to avoid.

Split ends cause breakage and damage to your hair. It also makes your hair unruly and hard to tame. It is recommended that you trim your hair once every six weeks or so. This is important to keep long hair looking smooth and healthy. If you naturally have dry hair prone to be frizzy, a good regular trim is advisable. The better condition your hair is in the more you will notice your new hair growth. Stronger hair is better hair. Also, for thin hair a good trim will help keep it looking it's thickest. As the ends split the hair becomes thin and brittle.

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

yes, it does ! but that doesn't mean go and chop it off to the scalp and when you wake it'll touch the floor ...when people tell you that-- they are telling you to trim away dead ends %26amp; that is what keeps your hair healthy b/c when you don't trim your healthy hair tries to 'repair' the damaged hair - but if you trim away dead ends then all of your hair is healthy and will grow BEAUTIFULLY...hope this helps you...

Does having your hair cut make it grow faster?

No, having your hair cut does not make it grow faster.

The speed your hair grows is genetically determined.

Each hair on your head grows a certain way (curly, straight), at a certain speed, and for a certain defined amount of time (and thus total length), no matter how many times it is cut. Once it has reached this length (lets say 4 inches for you), it falls out as a new hair pushes its way up (like getting new teeth as a kid!).

So if your hair is genetically determined to grow 4 inches before the new hair comes, you can cut an inch off that hair 3 or so times before that hair is out of your head, and replaced with a new one. Each time it is cut, it will grow at its genetically determined rate. The last cut, it might grow slower because its growth has actually slowed down as the new hair grows in.....
